Anuvrat Singh
Hi, my name’s Anuvrat Singh. Fresh out of my college, I am working as an Analytic Software Scientist at FICO (Fair Isaac India Software Pvt. Ltd.), in Bangalore.
I am a 2009 batch student of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
I am from the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad. Yeah, the gult pradesh. My native place is the holy city of Varanasi. All my schooling has been in Hyderabad itself. Johnson Grammar School is where I cleared my tenth board from. One year coaching at Sharma saw me get into the coveted Ramaiah coaching center for IIT JEE. And the next destination was Kharagpur, with a rank of 404.
4 wonderful years saw me make a lot of good friends. They made my stay at Kharagpur memorable, and the memories shall forever linger on. I cherish all the moments spent with them either having fun or quarreling.
The best memories are of the two trips we made. One was to Gangtok and Darjeeling after the end of the 2nd semester. The next was a trip to Dehradhun, Mussorie and river rafting at Rishikesh in my final semester. And I shall always regret the missed trip to Leh.
I love the world of Formula 1 racing and am a loyal supporter of Ferrari. Though after the retirement of Michael Schumacher, I have started appreciating Fernando Alonso too. And I am damn sure you shall never hear me talk highly of Lewis Hamilton. But recently with all the politics endangering the sport, my interest in it has slightly dwindled.
Apart from F1, the only other sport that I follow (read: try to keep in touch with) is soccer. I like the Chelsea FC (mostly because of Ballack). Having spent an year in Germany I have developed a sort of liking for them. No wonder they are the National team I support in the World Cup Finals. Oliver Kahn has been my all time best keeper.
Apart from these two interests, I also like to solve sudoku and am learning speed-cubing. My current best time has been 57 sec using a Funskool cube.I intend to buy a DIY sooner and get faster. My brother has been my teacher. You must look at him go, he takes on an average 30 sec to complete the cube ! I used to play chess when in school, but have since then lost my touch.
If I were to name one thing I cannot live without, then it would most certainly be music. There is always some background music playing on inĀ my room. One of my senior living in my neighbour described the experience as ‘sharing a wall with music system‘. The only ever stops for a movie or sitcom. I mostly listen to heavy metal and progressive metal/rock. Although Dream Theater and Iron Maiden are my all time favourite bands, currently I am addicted to Megadeth and Ayreon.
Recently I have discovered the joys of biking. I am always ready to go out on a bike trip with my CBZ Xtreme. I love everything about my bike.
